I, too, am a firm believer in people.
I, too, am a firm believer that when people are given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any challenge.
In some ways, however quaint, we all know this. We know this from our proverbs and the common wisdom that "necessity is the mother of invention."
It is human nature that when the need for something becomes imperative, we are forced to find ways of getting or achieving it.
Sometimes all we need is to understand how imperative it is. And for that, we need to know the ins and outs of the situation, the real facts, as Lincoln reminds us, and the wherewithal to apply ourselves.
