Wayne Memorial marks National Pharmacy Week

HONESDALE, PA — Wayne Memorial Hospital (WMH) recently celebrated Pharmacy Appreciation Week, recognized annually during the third full week of October to honor pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and other health care team members for their contributions to patient care and medication safety.

Each year the team is recognized for their hard work and the important role they play in patient care, the hospital wrote recently. “From ensuring medications are safe and accurate to working closely with physicians, nurses and other departments, the WMH pharmacy staff plays a vital role in keeping the hospital running smoothly and our patients safe.”

The pharmacy team “enjoyed a potluck filled with lots of yummy food, including breakfast favorites, lunch dishes and plenty of sweet treats! It was a fun way to spend time together and recognize the people who work so hard behind the scenes every day,” a spokesperson wrote.

“I couldn’t ask for a better team,” said Courtney Farrell, pharmacy manager at WMH. “Our staff is incredibly dedicated to our patients and to supporting the entire hospital. They work hard, look out for one another and always step up when needed. I’m so proud of the team we have and grateful for everything they do.”
