The Wayne County Democrats (Democrats) are working hard to ensure that children in Wayne County will have a Merry Christmas this year.

The Democrats are partnering with Santa Claus in several ways. A $500 check was recently presented to John Carmody, representing the Wayne County Children’s Christmas Bureau. “When we found out that the Children’s Christmas Bureau was giving money to kids to buy presents for their families, we knew we wanted to be a part of that effort,” said Barb Roman, chairperson of the bake sale that raised the funds for the holiday gifting.

In addition to the Children’s Christmas Bureau, the Democrats are collecting toys and books for Zipper Junction’s holiday toy drive.  “The Wayne County Dem elves will also use some of the money raised at the bake sale to buy toys and books for Zipper Junction to make Christmas even brighter for Wayne County kids,” Ms. Roman continued.  “We encourage anyone who can help to support these two wonderful organizations,” she added.

The Wayne County Democrats is the local affiliate organization of the Democratic Party (www.waynedems.com).
