WAYNE COUNTY, PA — In an announcement on Monday, May 19, Wayne County Commissioners Brian Smith, Jocelyn Cramer and James Shook stated they wanted to assure county citizens, voters and candidates that the County never endorses, supports, discourages or comments on candidates for public office.
The previous day, a local candidate circulated, prior to the May 20, 2025 Municipal Primary, advertising stating that the candidate is "trusted" by "Wayne County", "Children and Youth," "Area of the Aging" (sic) and other county departments. To the extent that any of these references are intended to convey endorsement of any candidate by any Department in Wayne County government, the Commissioners categorically deny these statements.
The sole function of the Wayne County government during any election is to ensure a fair, open and secure process, without any partisan overtones.
Election day is May 20, 2025. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
