As Tim Dymond’s sister and someone who has known him nearly his entire life, I find it hard to imagine anyone better suited to serve as Sullivan County Sheriff.

Tim comes from a family deeply committed to service. Our mother, Mary Dymond, dedicated her life to a career as an ER nurse, school nurse and ultimately a nurse practitioner. Our father, Calvin Dymond, was a compassionate and skilled therapist specializing in drug and alcohol addiction. From them, Tim learned the values of integrity, hard work, and standing up for what’s right—even when standing alone.

These values have shaped Tim into an extraordinary police officer with a unique skill set. He makes everyone feel seen and respected, can connect with anyone, and has a genuine passion for making our community safer and better. In his first three years as a New York State Trooper, Tim made 137 felony arrests, 355 misdemeanor arrests, and 97 DWIs. He’s not the type to wait for calls—he actively seeks out those who threaten our safety.

Tim’s exceptional dedication earned him rapid promotion within the NYSP. As an undercover investigator, he led complex wiretap operations that resulted in the arrests of 139 dangerous criminals. Tim embraces hard work, tough conversations, and the fight to protect our county.
