LIBERTY, NY — The Village of Liberty Police Department is currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Edgar Street in the Village of Liberty on Saturday, May 30 at approximately 10:15 p.m.
At that time and location, the Liberty Police Department received a report of a 17-year-old male with a single gunshot wound to the lower leg. The 17-year-old was transported to Westchester Medical Center and is in stable condition. The Village of Liberty Police Department in conjunction with New York State Police, the Sullivan County District Attorney's Office and the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the incident.
At this time, there is no threat to the general public. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Village of Liberty Police Department at 845-292-4422.
