LIBERTY, NY — The Village of Liberty declared a state of emergency at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28 due to excessive rainfall resulting in severe flooding and hazardous conditions.
The State of Emergency will remain in effect for 30 days or until rescinded by a subsequent order.
The declaration was issued to help protect the health, safety, and welfare of Village residents as emergency personnel continue to monitor and respond to flooding throughout the community.
Balsam Drive is currently closed due to flooding. Motorists are urged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes of travel. Additional road closures may occur as conditions change.
