University at Buffalo awards over 9,100 degrees at commencement

BUFFALO, NY — The following local students graduated from the University at Buffalo.

Ivan Khodakovski of Grahamsville, New York, graduated summa cum laude from the University at Buffalo with a bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering from the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences and a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. Khodakovski's degree was conferred in June 2026.

Richelle Kortright of Livingston Manor, New York, graduated summa cum laude from the University at Buffalo with a bachelor's degree in art history from the College of Arts and Sciences. Kortright's degree was conferred in February 2026.

Hanna Smith of Bloomingburg, New York, graduated from the University at Buffalo with a bachelor's degree in biological sciences from the College of Arts and Sciences. Smith's degree was conferred in August 2025.

Karl Swanson of Liberty, New York, graduated summa cum laude from the University at Buffalo with a bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering from the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. Swanson's degree was conferred in June 2026.

Eli Clarkson of Parksville, New York, graduated from the University at Buffalo with a bachelor's degree in business administration from the School of Management. Clarkson's degree was conferred in June 2026.

Uriel Cortes-Hidalgo of Livingston Manor, New York, graduated from the University at Buffalo with a bachelor's degree in environmental design from the School of Architecture and Planning. Cortes-Hidalgo's degree was conferred in June 2026.

Elena Ruef of Neversink, New York, graduated summa cum laude from the University at Buffalo with a bachelor's degree in environmental studies from the College of Arts and Sciences. Ruef's degree was conferred in June 2026.

Zachary Bader of Bloomingburg, New York, graduated cum laude from the University at Buffalo with a bachelor's degree in exercise science from the School of Public Health and Health Professions. Bader's degree was conferred in June 2026.

Michael Reyf of Rock Hill, New York, graduated magna cum laude from the University at Buffalo with a bachelor's degree in mathematics from the College of Arts and Sciences. Reyf's degree was conferred in June 2026.

Cole Terwilliger of Grahamsville, New York, graduated summa cum laude from the University at Buffalo with a bachelor's degree in urban and public policy studies from the College of Arts and Sciences. Terwilliger's degree was conferred in June 2026.

The university awarded over 9,100 degrees across 18 school-based degree-conferral ceremonies held May 1-17 and earlier in the academic year.

The commencement ceremonies recognized students whose bachelor's, master's or doctoral degrees were conferred by the university in August 2025, February 2026 or June 2026.
