I feel so sorry for the man who wrote a recent letter to the editor (River Reporter, April 30-May 6). He says he cannot support Paige Cognetti for Congress because she supports Joe Biden, who commuted the sentence of Michael Conahan.    

Who can he possibly support? Certainly not Rob Bresnahan, who has been in lockstep with Donald Trump.     The Donald Trump who pardoned over 1,000 individuals convicted of crimes in connection with the January 6, 2021 riot/insurrection at the Capitol. An event that resulted in the death of five law enforcement officers and injuries to at least 140 more.    

If he cannot support Cognetti because of her support for Biden, then he cannot possibly support Bresnahan, who supports a man who pardoned over 1,000 convicted, violent criminals.
