SULLIVAN COUNTY, NY — Sullivan 180 announced the latest round of grant awards in its School and Community Beautification Grant Program. These investments support volunteer efforts that go beyond aesthetics to create and care for public spaces that encourage physical activity, foster social connection, and support overall well-being, the organization said. “Public spaces contribute to building healthier, more vibrant communities where residents can live, learn, work and thrive.”
The 2026 Sullivan 180 Beautification Program grant recipients include:
Callicoon Business Association, for Callicoon Blooms
Callicoon Depot, for its garden project
Cochecton Volunteer Ambulance Corp., for its flagpole garden enhancement
ENGN CNTR, for the ENGN Pollinator Garden
Livingston Manor Renaissance, for Manor—Bloom On!
Roscoe O&W Railway Museum, for its historic marker viewing area and garden enhancement
Town of Liberty, for Town of Liberty beautification
Town of Lumberland Parks and Rec., for Lumberland Pride
White Sulphur Springs Sullivan First, for Seeing Us!
School Beautification Program grant recipients:
The Center for Discovery, for Healing Gardens for Growth and Learning
Monticello Central School District’s Kenneth L. Rutherford School, for Still We Rise!
Sullivan West Central School District’s elementary school, for landscape improvement at the front entry
Sullivan West High School, to beautify the secondary school entrance
“Each of these projects reflects the pride and care communities have for the places they share,” said Carmela Hugel, beautification program manager. “By enhancing school campuses, parks, community entrance signs, and public gardens, we’re creating spaces that bring people together, encourage healthier lifestyles, and make our communities more vibrant and inviting for everyone.”
