Has anyone noticed that Republicans put forth ideas that hurt Americans?  Not one action by the current administration actually helps Americans.  Here are a few actions proposed or taken as of July 18:

Eliminate SNAP—feeds hungry children

Took $800 million from Medicaid through the Ugly Cruel Funding Bill, which will also cause 16.9 million people to lose health insurance and close rural hospitals

Gutted vaccines and other programs that keep Americans healthy

Defunded university research that leads to innovation

Terminated support for people to pay off student loans

Ended USAID—help for impoverished countries

Eliminate NOAA—designed to alert people of disasters

Reversed environmental rules that help keep people safe

Tariffs (taxes) levied on ordinary Americans

Make it harder to vote (Save Act)

Made it harder to qualify for disability insurance

End automobile emission requirements and increase our dependence on fossil fuel

Fired the inspector generals who find waste, fraud and abuse among federal agencies

Create a network of concentration camps across America

Foment violence like on January 6

Pardoned insurrectionists, rapists, terrorists and other wealthy criminals

Defunded the IRS so it’s harder to audit the rich, leading to loss of revenue

Banned books; censor libraries

Criminalize gay and trans people

Defunded the arts, humanities and public media

Roll back gun safety measures

Criminalize free speech, especially on college campuses

Attempted to revoke birthright citizenship

Attacked press freedom and barred the Associated Press from the White House

Sabotage the U.S. Post Office

Defunded PBS

Deported brown people who are on the path to citizenship

Cancelled funding for the suicide hotline for gay and trans kids

Gut our national parks and sell our public lands to wealthy friends of Trump

Allow the president to accept hundreds and millions of dollars in bribes from foreign countries in violation of the emoluments clause of the Constitution.

This is just a partial list of changes that are or could hurt Americans. If you think you are immune and won’t be harmed, think again. We will all be affected by the hurtful policies of the Trump administration.
