The so-called “Big, Beautiful Bill” will take effect mainly after the midterms, and Trump will blame Democrats for its devastating outcomes. Trump is well aware that the impact will be devastating! And we need to be sure that voters know that he and the Republican Congress inflicted this on us.

This Republican bill cuts over a trillion dollars to Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare). It will deprive many of health care and will close as many as 500 rural hospitals and one in three Planned Parenthood clinics. Many sick people will be out of luck. In this very rich country, many will suffer and needlessly die.

The bill cuts $218 billion from SNAP, which will deprive three million people of food assistance (Trump’s war in Iran has, of course, astronomically increased food and gas prices already). The bill offers private school vouchers, typically used by the wealthy. Vouchers force states to cut funds for public education.

The so-called “Big, Beautiful Bill” gives a trillion dollars’ worth of tax cuts to people making over $500,000 a year, and while these giveaways are permanent, the humble “no tax on tips” expires in four years. 

Big oil fared well; clean energy projects were cut. Electric bills will soar, and so will pollution. Russell Vought claims the bill decreases the debt; in fact, it adds $4 trillion to it.

This is an enormously cruel bill and will inflict suffering on many unsuspecting Americans. It is imperative that every voter go to the polls knowing that the Republicans did this to us.
