Tague slams record budget

“New York cannot spend its way out of this affordability crisis. Yet, here we are again with another record quarter-trillion-dollar budget that fails to address the real problems facing our families. Instead of providing relief, this budget barely touches the draconian green mandates that are driving utility bills through the roof, while aggressively expanding sanctuary policies that prioritize illegal migrants over hardworking New Yorkers.

“We continue to chase taxpayers out of this state year after year with massive spending and punishing taxes. More than a million residents have already fled this decade because they’re fed up with Albany’s backwards priorities. This budget handcuffs our sheriffs, erodes local control and builds a sanctuary superstate at the expense of our own communities. It doesn’t help families struggling to pay their bills, it abandons them.

“I voted ‘no’ on this budget and will keep fighting to restore sanity, repeal these job-killing mandates and put the priorities of New York taxpayers first,” said Tague.
