The opponent, Mr. Dymond, is without a doubt qualified as a policeman. But he seems to lack the administrative experience required to run the Sheriff's Department, which consists of 200 employees.
Above all, the function of the Sheriff does not entail mostly police work, but in managing the department so the deputies and the detectives have everything they need to do their job.
A job of running against a successful incumbent is always a difficult one. But, unfortunately, Mr. Dymond elected to solve his dilema by runing a negative campaign that may turn the voters off by inventing charges against the Sheriff and his department that were rather nonexistent or were highly exaggerated.
