State police arrest four from Ellenville on assault charges

ELLENVILLE, NY — On September 8, 2026, at approximately 9:00 a.m., troopers out of SP Ellenville responded to the Mobil gas station located at 8404 State Route 209 in Wawarsing NY, for a report of multiple individuals fighting. 

The investigation indicated that several individuals assaulted a 43-year-old male victim using a baseball bat. The victim was transported to Garnet Health Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries. 

All four individuals were transported to SP Ellenville for processing without incident.  

They were arrested and charged with the following:

 Jordan I. Jones, age 19, of Ellenville NY

  • Attempted Gang Assault 2nd Degree, a class D felony
  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree, a class A misdemeanor
  • Assault 2nd Degree, a class D felony

 Amanda M. Jones, age 40, of Ellenville NY

  • Attempted Gang Assault 2nd Degree, a class D felony
  • Assault 2nd Degree, a class D felony
  • Endangering the Welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor

 Matthew Johannessen, age 24, of Ellenville, NY

  • Attempted Gang Assault 2nd Degree, a class D felony
  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, a class D felony
  • Assault 2nd Degree, a class D felony
  • Criminal Mischief 4th Degree, a class A misdemeanor

A 16-year-old male, from Ellenville, NY

  • Attempted Gang Assault 2nd Degree, a class D felony
  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree, a class A misdemeanor
  • Assault 2nd Degree, a class D felony

 All four individuals were arraigned at Ulster County Court Centralized Arraignment Part and remanded to Ulster County Jail pending future court appearance. 

The investigation is ongoing.
