SOUTH FALLABURG, NY — On September 12, 2026 Fallsburg Police responded to a business in South Fallsburg for a reported dispute. It was alleged by the victim that two subjects, identified as 20-year-old Mario Menor-Zeferino and 32-year-old Jose Fores, had menaced him with knives. It was reported that the one subject held a knife to the victim's side while the second subject approached him from behind, held a knife to his throat then cut his beard.
Following a police investigation, both Mario Menor-Zeferino and Jose Flores were taken into custody after being located by police on Main Street in South Fallsburg. Both individuals were charged with the misdemeanors of menacing in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree. Both individuals were then released on an appearance ticket and are scheduled to appear in the Town of Fallsburg Justice Court at a later date.
Criminal charges are merely allegations that a defendant has committed violations of the criminal law, and as such they are not evidence of guilt. All defendants have a presumption of innocence and are entitled to a fair trial, during which it will be the burden of the State of New York to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
