Matt Cartwright, the U.S. Congressional Representative for the 8th district, could have continued to practice law and effectively advocate for his individual clients. He might have had a robust, successful and lengthy legal career. But along that career path, he seemed to have decided that through diligent work in the House of Representatives, he could do even greater good for many more constituent Pennsylvanians. 

The rest is history. Since 2013, Matt has brought resources, infrastructure, jobs and federal dollars to NEPA. These have aided our farmers, workers, veterans and small business people to stay competitive and even thrive in our economy.

After his upcoming victory in November, Matt will return to D.C. as a senior member of the powerful House Committee on Appropriations, and that will bode well for NEPA and the 8th CD in particular.

Every two years the Republican MAGA opposition eyes the competitive possibilities of the 8th CD and decides that the district can be flipped with MAGA millions of dollars and the right millionaire cardboard candidate—often from out of the district and with little or no functional relationship to the 8th. Last time, in 2022, it was Jim Bognet and this time it is some other money guy (look it up) trying to add the district to the red column and thus help change the power dynamic in DC. 

After Matt wins this election with your support, (www.cartwrightcongress.com) with the “magic” called exhaustive hard work, in about two years there will be another unnamed millionaire guy backed with even more money to yet again try to buy the 8th CD. Don’t be fooled. Matt has the only functional plan for our district that includes your interests and the concerns of our people.

Both very effective in Congress and in the district, Matt’s “secret sauce” is his workaholic commitment to bipartisan solutions. MAGA does not get that. Matt does. Compromise is not a dirty word. It is a solution to a problem staring right back at you. It is also how Matt can get things done when others cannot. In addition, it is also how you and I will someday ride a commuter train from Scranton through NJ and into NYC.
