UPPER DELAWARE RIVER VALLEY — A morning's snowfall brought slippery roads and snow squalls to the Upper Delaware on Thursday, December 5.

The United States National Weather Service Binghamton office  (NWS-Binghamton) warned at 9:12 a.m. of snow squalls moving through the region. "If you can, delay travel until these move through. If you are headed out & get caught in a squall, reduce your speed and turn on your headlights. Visibility less than 1 mi and snow covered roads are expected in these bands."

Acording to NWS Binghamton, snow showers developing in the afternoon will persist through Friday, December 6.  Forecast snow accumulations through Friday morning are approximately 1 to 2 inches throughout the Upper Delaware River Valley.

Eldred Central School District had a 2-hour delay for slippery road conditions, but was able to open.  Sullivan West Central School District closed for the day due to the conditions —  "Stay safe, Bulldogs!" read the school's announcement.

Wayne Highlands School District closed for the day, as did the Wallenpaupack Area School District.
