It is an unfortunate and deadly reality today that people are constantly bombarded with advertisements for products and services that might tweak our lives a millimeter or two in one direction or the other.
At the same time, we have tectonic events happening every day in this country that we fail to notice and that are undermining our system of constitutional government. These events wreck the economy, the physical environment, education and health systems, religious and business ethics, our families and social lives.
We are ignoring these large issues because we spend so much time and money making those tiny product decisions and other decisions about what restaurants and entertainment venues we want to patronize today. People are acting like America is not worth saving.
Is there such a thing as citizenship in America any longer?
