MILFORD, PA ― At the Pike County Commissioners’ Meeting on February 19, 2025, the Commissioners called upon all residents to recognize the contributions of our older residents and promote programs and activities that foster connection, inclusion, and support for older adults.
In celebration of National Senior Independence Month (observed in February), Lana Romeo, Activity/Program Director, Pike County Area Agency on Aging, announced the launch of two new programs offered through the Aging Office free of charge.
Bingocize
By combining a classic pastime with exercise, Bingocize creates a fun and exciting way to get adults moving, learning and socializing, while simultaneously promoting a healthy lifestyle! Bingocize is an evidence-based health and wellness program aimed at promoting physical fitness and proper nutrition by combining exercise with the game of Bingo. Throughout the game, Bingocizers complete exercises and answer questions on the topic of health and wellness. The intensity of the exercises and difficulty of the questions are tailored to the players to ensure the Bingocizer receives the best workout possible.
Bingocize will be held on Friday, March 7 at 10:30 am, at the Eastern Pike Center at Matamoras Firehouse, 506 Avenue Q, Matamoras, PA 18336, with more classes to follow. The program has a limited number of slots available. Call the Aging Office at 570/775-5550 to register for Bingocize.
