HONESDALE — Wayne County District Attorney A.G. Howell announced today that Cody Tyler Pearsall, age 19, from Salem Township, Wayne County, Pennsylvania was convicted of possessing child pornography following a one-day non-jury trial before Wayne County Court of Common Pleas President Judge Janine Edwards.

This incident stems from the arrest of Cody Pearsall’s brother, Matthew Foster, who was found to be in possession of nearly 165,000 files of child pornography when members of the Pennsylvania Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force served a search warrant at their residence in December 2023.

According to the criminal complaint affidavit of probable cause filed by Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Gabriel Paduck and Wayne County Detective Michael McMorrow, investigators served a search warrant at a residence located on Hollisterville Highway, Salem Township, Wayne County, Pennsylvania. The search warrant granted investigators the authority to examine all electronic devices located within the residence for evidence of child pornography. While the search was being conducted, Pearsall related to police that he had watched a video depicting a four-year-old child being raped by an adult male the night prior.

The Pearsall’s cell phone was examined and images depicting child pornography were located. Pearsall was found guilty of Possessing Child Pornography graded as a Felony of the 3rd Degree and Criminal Use of a Communication Facility graded as a Felony of the 3rd Degree.

Pearsall is due back in court in May 2025 for sentencing.
