Rob Breshnahan’s current TV ads are misleading and desperate. One says that Bresnahan voted for “the working families tax cut.” What it fails to mention is that the tax cuts for the middle class are mere pocket change compared to the massive tax cuts he also voted to give to big corporations and millionaires like himself.
The ad also conveniently omits that he also voted to cut Medicaid and SNAP benefits, two programs “working families” depend on and something he said he would never do.
The ad then desperately pivots to the same old Republican distraction tactic of culture war issues and references to the “radical left.” Soaring prices are what really matter to “working families,” not worn-out scare tactics. Another ad claims he voted to end stock trading in Congress. The truth is he campaigned on banning stock trading and, once elected, became one of Congress’s most active stock traders, profiting from the sale of Medicaid-sensitive stocks just before voting to cut Medicaid.
Now, since his opponent Paige Cognetti has called him out, he is trying to say that he fixed a problem that he was actually a big part of.
Don’t be fooled by his TV commercials. He lied about stock trading, just like he lied about never cutting Medicare and SNAP benefits. Now, with his tired culture-war issues, by implication, he’s lying about Paige Cognetti.
Enough is enough. We need someone in Congress who cares about us and not just himself. Someone like Paige Cognetti.
