Putting governing ahead of politics

I would like to thank Congressman Bresnahan for his vote to keep the federal government open and functioning for the American people.

At a time when so many families are concerned about stability, paychecks, and essential services, Congressman Bresnahan chose to put governing ahead of politics. His vote demonstrated a commitment to responsibility and to the people he represents.

It is worth noting that not a single Democrat supported this measure, while Congressman Bresnahan and his Republican colleagues stepped up to prevent a shutdown and the unnecessary disruption that comes with it. Keeping the government open should not be a partisan issue. It is a basic obligation to the public.

Congressman Bresnahan’s leadership shows that Republicans are focused on practical solutions and on putting the needs of the American people first. For that, he deserves recognition and thanks.
