Milford, PA — Pike County District Attorney Ray Tonkin announced the sentence for possessing child sexual abuse materials filed against a Pike County man in October of 2025.
Investigators from the District Attorney’s office charged Adam Rufrano, age 41, of Dingman Township, previously entered a plea of guilty to the crime possession of child sexual abuse material, graded as a third-degree felony. Pike County President Judge Gregory H. Chelak sentenced Rufrano to a total sentence of not less than 8 months up to 23 months in Pike County Correctional facility along with a fine of $1,000.00.
According to the affidavit of probable cause supporting the charges, Detectives at the District Attorney’s Office received information from the Port Jervis Police Department that Rufrano had been going through the process of being hired as a dispatcher with Port Jervis Police Department. The hiring process includes a manual search through the applicant’s cell phone.
With the assistance of the Port Jervis Police Department, detectives discovered child sexual abuse images on an electronic device. During an interview, Rufrano admitted to visiting the website and watching whatever strikes his fantasy that day and sometimes barely legal and younger stuff comes up.
Rufrano is required to register with the Pennsylvania State Police under Pennsylvania’s version of Megan’s Law for a period of fifteen years.
