Pennsylvania State Police file criminal homicide charges in 2024 Pike County death investigation

BLOOMING GROVE, PA — The Pennsylvania State Police have filed criminal charges against Anthony Kistle in connection with the May 22, 2024, death of his wife, Karen Kistle, at their residence on Vandian Court in Dingman Township, Pike County.

Following an extensive investigation, Kistle has been charged with:

• Criminal Homicide

• Theft by Unlawful Taking (Firearm)

• Theft by Unlawful Taking (Motor Vehicle)

Evidence gathered at the scene, witness interviews, forensic examination, and subsequent investigative findings concluded that Karen Kistle's death was the result of a homicide rather than a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Anthony Kistle is currently in custody in Colorado. He will be returned to Pennsylvania pending an extradition hearing to answer the charges filed in Pike County.
