NORTHEAST PA — Penn’s Northeast, a regional economic development agency servicing nine counties in northeastern PA, is working with officials from the state’s department of community and economic development to host a networking event in New York City with national site selectors, brokers and developers to talk about the benefits of locating companies to the region.
The goal is to highlight all that Pennsylvania has to offer for new businesses looking to expand and grow in the Northeast United States.
“This collaboration showcases the strength and resources of northeastern Pennsylvania as we continue to share the region’s incredible business advantages, from a strategic location where companies can reach one third of the United States and half of Canada in one day’s drive, an available workforce of more than 500,000 people, ready-to-go available industrial sites, 19 colleges and universities and strong community support,” said John Augustine III, president/CEO of Penn’s Northeast. “Together, we’re making sure NEPA stays on the map for business growth and opportunity.”
The stated goal of Penn’s Northeast is to attract quality employers to northeastern Pennsylvania by acting as an easy one-stop shop for businesses looking to expand or locate to the region. The agency serves as a regional economic development group for site selection consultants, real estate brokers, developers and businesses. The nine-county region it covers includes Wayne and Pike counties.
