DINGMANS FERRY, PA — When people mention the Pocono Environmental Education Center (PEEC), it is often with the words “I went on a field trip there when I was in school. It was the best field trip we had.” Building on its 54-year history, PEEC continues to be a premier place for school trips and environmental education, while also providing so much more.
A registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit that receives no direct federal or state funding, PEEC is an asset to the tourism industry of the Poconos, offering public nature programs and free hiking trails, plus five Family Camp Weekends each year. PEEC also hosts scout groups and offers environmental/nature badges, along with opportunities for service projects, Eagle Scout projects and Gold Award projects. Meeting spaces are available in various, nature-surrounded, indoor and outdoor venues, and team building and confidence course programs are available for workplace retreats, school groups and more. A variety of lodging spaces and a full-service dining hall can accommodate group sizes from 15 to 300.
PEEC is located at 538 Emery Road.
For more information, visit www.PEEC.org, call PEEC at 570/828-2319, or email peec@peec.org.
