UPPER DELAWARE, NY — Regional businesses and attractions have an opportunity to partner with Upper Delaware Scenic Byway, Inc. in a fun, family-friendly contest to be played along the NYS Route 97 corridor this summer, in the first ever Upper Delaware Scavenger Hunt.
From June 1 through August 31, residents and visitors will fan out along and off the 70-mile scenic byway from Hancock to Port Jervis in search of 30-plus challenges in the form of riddles, selfie photos and multiple-choice questions.
Participants download the free Turfhunt app on their cell phones, choose Upper Delaware Scavenger Hunt, start playing whenever and wherever they like, and the app will tally points for each challenge’s completion to qualify to win various tiers of prizes.
The game motivates players to explore the communities, historic sites, natural features, unique shops, eateries and experiences that qualified the route in Delaware, Sullivan and Orange counties for designation to the New York State Scenic Byways System in 2002.
As contestants learn more about the Upper Delaware River Valley and discover new places, businesses will benefit from this exposure and the need for services, according to a press release.
Partners can:
Contact UDSB with your willingness to display posters and flyers to help market the event and draw more awareness to the Upper Delaware Scavenger Hunt.
