BUCKINGHAM TOWNSHIP — The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a case of cruelty to animals that occurred in Buckingham Township, Wayne County.
On March 3, 2025, at approximately 5:15 p.m., troopers from the Honesdale responded to a report of a deceased puppy found on the 2400 block of O & W Road in Buckingham Township. The puppy, an 8-10-week-old pitbull, was found near a yellow access gate.
Upon inspection, the puppy was cold to the touch and was frozen to the ground where the heat from its body had melted the ice beneath had refrozen to the puppy. Troopers was noted that the puppy was not frozen solid and could be manipulated when retrieved. It was
determined that this puppy was malnourished and underweight. It was also ascertained that this puppy was without a microchip. This puppy was brindle in color.
It is believed that this puppy was still alive when it was dumped at this location.
