MILFORD, PA — On July 29, 2026, at approximately 3:52 pm, a blue 2006 Freightliner truck tractor hauling a semi-trailer was traveling south on West Harford Street when the driver lost control near the intersection with Seventh Street.
The tractor trailer struck a vehicle near 301 West Harford Street before continuing south and striking several additional vehicles. Laine Matthews, 75, of Levittown, Pennsylvania, sustained fatal injuries in the crash. Multiple other individuals sustained injuries.
THe driver of the semi was identified as Wilmar A. Gonzalez-Juarez of Central Islip, New York.

Members of the Pennsylvania State Police Troop R Forensic Services Unit and Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Specialist Unit responded to the scene.

The Pennsylvania State Police were assisted by the Milford Borough Police Department, Milford Fire Department, and Pike County Sheriff’s Office.
The investigation remains ongoing.
