LACKAWAXEN, PA — On October 3 at around 5 p.m., the Pennsylvania State Police responded to the 800 block of State Route 590, Lackawaxen Township. The Pike County Communcations Center had requested troopers to respond, as Lackawaxen Township EMS had a woman on scene hindering medical care of a patient on scene.
When they arrived, troopers observed the woman, identified as Angelina Nicole Dziura, 23 y/o, of Utica, NY, inside the ambulance, refusing to exit at the order of EMS personnel. Troopers ordered Dziura to exit the ambulance, but she refused.
Troopers placed Dziura into custody, where she attempted to kick troopers. She was then placed under arrest, and when put into the rear of a marked state police vehicle, she began to kick the rear right door windshield in an attempt to break the window. Through the duration of her transport and custody with the state police, Dziura hurled numerous racial slurs and epithets at troopers, and threatened to choke one trooper.
Dziura was subsequently charged with Obstructing Emergency Services, Disorderly Conduct—Hazardous/Physical Offense, Resisting Arrest and Criminal Attempt of Institutional Vandalism. Dziura was then arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Randy Schmalzle of District Court 60-3-02. Schmalzle set Dziura's bail at $10,000.
Dziura was subsequently transported to the Pike County Correctional Facility for housing.
