People can be excused for feeling depressed over the rash of bad news we’ve been hit with lately. Examples of which are:
the lack of progress in the Iran War;
the cost of the war—now well up in the billions of dollars;
the depletion of our stockpile of weapons, which could be a future problem;
the success of the Houthis in Yemen;
the record high cost of gas and diesel fuel;
the cost of living and inflation;
the federal deficit—$1.8 trillion added in the past 10 months;
the national debt—over $40 trillion, which sooner or later will have to be paid;
the news that insiders are so concerned about dangers with AI;
the closing of the Kennedy Center (unless it includes Trump’s name); and
the “60 Minutes” report about how people pay to get Presidential pardons.
But don’t despair. After all, there is some good news. President Trump did have a good round of golf in Ireland last week.
