PLEASANT MOUNT, PA — On 06/06/26 at approximately 0806 hours, Troopers were dispatched to Daw Road, Pleasant Mount Township, Wayne County for a report of shots fired.
The Victim, a 43 YOA-female called 911 from a neighbor's residence after fleeing shots being fired at her by her paramour, Mark Renninger, 56 YOA. She was not struck by any gunfire.
Troopers from Honesdale, Dunmore, Gibson and Blooming Grove responded to the scene and established a perimeter of the residence and secured the Victim. It was quickly discovered that Renninger had fled the scene.
Responding Troopers from Blooming Grove were diverted to an Auto Zone in Texas Township after employees reported a suspicious male inside the business. The male and vehicle he arrived in matched Renninger's physical and vehicle description.
Troopers took Renninger into custody without incident and secured the suspect vehicle. A Troop R partial major case team was activated.
Renninger was charged with Attempted Homicide and other related offenses. He was lodged at the Wayne County Correctional Facility. Trooper Michael Collins is the investigating Trooper.
