A terrible war has suddenly exploded throughout the Middle East. How far it will spread, how long it will last, and its effects are not known. Sullivan, Ulster and Orange counties, with their reservoirs and water supplies, could be vulnerable.
Several years ago, restrictive barriers prohibiting cars and trucks from driving over the scenic middle of the Ashokan Reservoir Dam between Olive and Kingston were erected and are still guarded.
The Town of Neversink has two reservoirs, the Neversink and the Roundout, which also transfers water from the Downsville Reservoir in Delaware County. All supply water to New York City.
Those watersheds and stream tributaries are patrolled by the New York City Board of Water Supply in Grahamsville on Route 42 at Route 55. This is our home territory and our individual responsibility to immediately report any unusual activity to:
