Port Jervis, NY, is among more than 3,000 communities across the country that will hold rallies, marches and roadside protests for the second national No Kings event on Saturday, March 28. The rally in Port Jervis will be held at Veterans Memorial Park on Pike Street from noon to 2 p.m.
The rally is organized by a grassroots group of residents from Port Jervis and surrounding communities. Among the speakers to address the rally are U.S. Marine Corps Veteran Aaron Stark; Wilmer Jimenez, Rural and Migrant Ministries; Cindy-Lee Dorcelly, president, Middletown NAACP; Jeremy Shannon, school board member; Julie Takatsch, RN; and Pastor Lena Warren, St. Peter’s Lutheran Church; among others. Guitarist and singer Robert Tellefsen and The Lucky Ones will perform at the rally.
Organizers are planning a peaceful rally that will highlight the increasingly authoritarian actions of the current administration and the need to defend our democracy and the rule of law. For more information, email nokingsportjervis@gmail.com.
