New trout management plan for Delaware River

Posted

ONLINE — The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) will hold a virtual public information session on Tuesday, February 25 at 6 p.m. to inform New Yorkers about the new Delaware River Tailwaters Joint Trout Management Plan.

The Delaware River Tailwaters support a nationally renowned sport fishery for wild trout; and the protection and enhancement of this premier fishery remains a top priority for both DEC and the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission.

The Joint Trout Management Plan, designed in partnership with the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, will guide both agencies in the strategic and science-based management of trout in the East and West branches of the Delaware River. This includes the river from the Village of Hancock in Delaware County downriver to the Hamlet of Callicoon in Sullivan County. To view the plan and register to attend, visit here.
