National Dairy Month baby at WMH

HONESDALE, PA — Little Darius Forman Jr. was welcomed into the world at Wayne Memorial Hospital as the National Dairy Month baby, the first baby born in June.

June is known as National Dairy Month.

The little bundle of joy received a basket full of dairy products from Creamworks Creamery, along with baby items from the Wayne County Dairy Court.

Members of the dairy court greeted baby Darius and his parents, Darius Forman and Kayla Sheridan, to promote nutrient-rich dairy foods and thank all the hard-working dairy farmers.

Darius Jr. was born on June 1.

The family was happy to receive the gift basket with so much to enjoy.

Pennsylvania ranks eighth nationally in total milk production; about 93 percent of all dairy farms here are family owned. The industry supports more than 46,000 jobs and contributes $11.1 billion to the state’s economy.
