Members of the Village of Monticello Police arrested Ishmiel Agapito, age 24, of Monticello on Monday September 2nd, 2024. Agapito was charged with the 2 counts of Burglary in the 3rd degree, 1 count of Grand larceny in the 4th degree and 2 counts of Petit larceny.
Agapito was arrested following an investigation of 2 separate burglaries that occurred at the “Taam Eden Bakery” located at the Mountain Square Mall on East Broadway in the Village of Monticello.
On Tuesday, August 27 at 1:53 A.M. and again on Thursday, August 29 at 5:15 A.M., Agapito did force his way in through a rear door and did steal property from inside the business. Agapito was identified through surveillance video.
Agapito was arraigned in the Village of Monticello Justice Court before Village Justice Douglas Solomon. Agapito was remanded to the Sullivan County Jail on $10,000 cash bail, $25,000 bail bond and $50,000 insurance bail bond pending further court action.
The filing of an accusatory instrument is merely an accusation and every person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
