TAFTON, PA — The Pinnacle Family Health Center, an internal medicine practice of Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers (WMCHC), recently welcomed Mary “Katie” Waldrep, CRNP, as an advanced practice provider at its Tafton office. While new to the practice, Waldrep is no stranger to the community, having served patients for the last 10 years as a registered nurse.

“Moving to Wayne County remains one of the best decisions I have ever made,” said Waldrep. “I like to joke that I’m not from here but got here as soon as I could.”

During the past decade, she worked in a variety of health care settings, including in the ICU, OR and in labor and delivery.

She most recently served as a labor and delivery nurse at the New Beginnings Birthing Suite at Wayne Memorial Hospital, a clinical affiliate of WMCHC.

“I loved my experience with moms and newborns,” she said. “I love helping all patients and know the opportunity to care for adults will be equally fulfilling.”

Waldrep said that her philosophy is to “promote health and safety across the life continuum,” and she “looks forward to bringing this attitude and mindset” to adult patients at Pinnacle.

Waldrep earned a master’s degree in nursing as a family nurse practitioner from Misericordia University. She completed most of her clinical rotations while studying to become a family nurse practitioner at WMCHC facilities.

“When I graduated, I knew I wanted to care for the people of our community and remain part of the WMCHC family,” said Waldrep.
