News that income tax refunds are higher this year is encouraging for families across northeastern Pennsylvania. At a time when everyday expenses remain high, a larger return can provide real relief, like helping households cover necessities, reduce debt, or set aside some savings.

These outcomes reflect the impact of long-term economic policy choices. The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act was designed to ease the tax burden on individuals and families, and the benefits are continuing to be felt here in NEPA today.

Congressman Rob Bresnahan deserves thanks for supporting this legislation and for backing policies that allow residents to keep more of what they earn. It’s reassuring to see those decisions translating into tangible benefits for people throughout our region.
