Here's what I know about publishing a local newspaper.

Newspapers have their own heart and soul. They reflect the passion and mission of the people who work to publish them.

They reflect an intimate level of community and are a source of local news that does not exist in any other news media.

They cast light on the doings of the local government, highlight individual lives and accomplishments, and encourage civil and civic engagement

Within all of that, they are an irreplaceable asset to the community they cover.

A good local paper is an entity to treasure.
