HONESDALE, PA — Wayne Memorial Hospital has named Lisa Freiermuth employee of the year for 2024.
“She has been a cheerful presence in food services at Café 601, the hospital’s kitchen and dining for over 12 years. Lisa was the employee of the month in November and was joined by other monthly winners through the year along with administrators, coworkers and additional staff from various departments,” a press release reads.
CEO Jim Pettinato surprised Lisa and presented her with a plaque and monetary award. Additionally, she received a bouquet of flowers and a Wayne Memorial swag bag.
“A special award for a special lady,” said Jim Hockenbury, chief of professional and ancillary services.
Freiermuth accepted the award and said, “I wish it could be employees of the year, because everyone in our department deserves it. I don’t do it alone.”
Speaking to the staff gathered in the hospital lobby for the event, Cathy Mignone, chief of human resources, said, “We can’t do any of this without all of you. Everyone here matters.”
