On September 28, Pennsylvanians Together In Action (PATIA), MomsRising Together and Economic Security Project Action brought the “PA Feels the Squeeze” traveling lemonade stand to Scranton, PA as part of the Price Is High Affordability Week of Action.
The groups started at the office of Sen. Dave McCormick, with trips around the corner to Rep. Rob Bresnahan’s office.
The event featured free lemonade, a giant “Republican Receipt” examining Bresnahan’s voting record on affordability issues, district-specific affordability information, and opportunities for area residents to share how the costs of health care, groceries, child care, utilities and other necessities are affecting their families.
The traveling lemonade stand made several stops during the week of action, kicking off “Fridays Without Fitzpatrick” in Langhorne, stood strong in the rain in Harrisburg on Saturday, and made a final stop in Bethlehem.
The Rob Bresnahan Receipt is one of a series released nationally by Economic Security Project Action that places lawmakers’ public statements about affordability alongside congressional voting records and information about household costs.
This event builds on PATIA’s ongoing health care affordability and accountability campaign in PA-08, which examines how decisions made by our members of Congress are affecting access to and the cost of health coverage.
The event comes as Pennsylvania continues to experience significant health coverage losses tied to higher costs. Pennie, Pennsylvania’s official health insurance marketplace, reports that nearly 202,000 Pennsylvanians have canceled coverage during 2026, after premiums doubled on average following the expiration of enhanced federal premium tax credits.
