STROUDSBURG, PA – The newly formed Monroe County Dementia Coalition and the Community Foundation of Monroe County are bringing world-renowned dementia care specialist Teepa Snow, MS, OTR/L, FAOTA, to the Pocono region for a transformative one-day forum on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the Shawnee Inn & Golf Resort in Shawnee-on-Delaware.

The Dementia Care & Caregivers Forum will feature two distinct sessions designed to address the urgent need for dementia education and support in our community. Charlie and Ginny Kirkwood, along with the Kirkwood family of Shawnee, are generously hosting this important event.

Morning Session (8:30–11:45 AM): "Improving Dementia Care in the Healthcare Setting"
This professional session is designed for medical professionals and caregivers, with CEUs available for OT, PT, ST, Social Workers, and RNs

Afternoon Session (1:00–4:00 PM): "Navigating the Journey of Dementia"
This session is tailored for family members and caregivers who are supporting loved ones living with dementia.

As founder of Positive Approach to Care and a leading international expert in dementia care, Teepa Snow has dedicated her career to improving quality of life for individuals with dementia and those who care for them. Her evidence-based approach and engaging teaching style have made her one of the most sought-after speakers in the field.
