The lyrics of "Let It Be" are floating through my consciousness as I muse on this sentiment that composure and sincerity are what people want at a time of upheaval.
I find it to be true for myself. When things are falling apart, I want self-composure (or imperturbability!) and to connect with what is real and life affirming.
Quite simply, I want to feel grounded in the nature of the world and in myself.
It's that inner and outer connection that it is to be human. Even, or especially, in times of upheaval.
