CALLICOON, NY — Werner Herzog’s “Theater of Thought,” a new documentary partially filmed in Cochecton, will be shown at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 21 at the Callicoon Theater.
The film will be followed by a talkback and musical performance by Joseph LeDoux and Colin Dempsey, who play Heavy Mental music—songs about the mind and brain and mental disorders.
The talkback will be moderated by Jason Tougaw.
In a conversation with Tougaw, LeDoux will discuss how he came to be involved in Herzog’s film. He’ll talk about what it was like to be interviewed by Herzog and later chats with the filmmaker.
LeDoux will also talk about his entwined career as neuroscientist and musician, and play Heavy Mental songs with Colin Dempsey, his bandmate in The Amygdaloids and acoustic duo So We Are.
Tickets cost $15.
The theater is located at 30 Upper Main St.
