Honesdale businesses eligible for business improvement grant

HONESDALE, PA — Small businesses within the area of Honesdale's Main Street are eligible to apply for a grant program to help offset the cost of items to help their success. 

Business owners and store front businesses within the area of Greater Honesdale Partnership's (GHP) Main Street designation are eligible to apply. 

Eligible improvements include: structural or interior improvements and equipment, promotion specialists, and hardware or software connectivity. Not eligible are salaries, operating costs, rent mortgage, utilities or inventory. 

Guidelines

  • This grant is available at a 25% match up to $5,000
  • Applicants looking for property improvements must own the commercial property specified on the application or be a business that leases space in the building and obtains the required authorization from the building owner as part of the application process. The applicant is responsible for obtaining any permits required.
  • Purchases or repairs completed prior to the grant acceptance letter by the GHP Revitalization Committee are not eligible for funding.
  • Grant funding will be reimbursed after proper documentation is provided, and approved by Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development. .
  • Submission of an application does not guarantee approval and funding of the grant project. Furthermore, the committee may award partial grants based on the number of applications and funding available.
  • The grant funding must be used within 6 months of the grant being issued.
  • Applications are due to the Greater Honesdale Partnership no later than September 26, 2025 4:00PM
