Honesdale is participating in the Outdoor Towns initiative, which seeks to better connect residents and visitors with the region’s many outdoor recreation opportunities, including hiking, biking, boating, parks, trails and other activities. The initiative brings together residents, local government and business owners to help identify opportunities that can strengthen Honesdale as a destination for outdoor recreation and community activities.
Community participation is an important part of the process. The information collected will help identify projects and improvements that can make Honesdale a more inviting destination while making outdoor amenities more accessible to residents and visitors.

Community members are encouraged to complete the survey and share the opportunity with friends, neighbors, employees, customers, and other individuals who have an interest in the future of Honesdale.
The feedback gathered through the survey will help inform the development of an Outdoor Towns Action Plan.
As part of the Outdoor Towns process, Honesdale is also planning a free community walking assessment on Saturday, October 17 at 1:00 p.m. The assessment will provide another opportunity for community members to share observations and ideas about Honesdale and help guide the type of Outdoor Town the community can become.
Individuals interested in participating in the walking assessment can provide their email address at the end of the survey.
The borough of Honesdale encourages everyone to take a few minutes to complete the survey and help shape the future of Honesdale.
