When others I know have moved out of New York, they asked, “When are you going to leave?”
I have always replied that I don’t want to move. My entire family lives here. The farm that my grandparents started here 78 years ago—and I continue to operate today—has been my home since I was a child. My wife and I raised our children here.
New York is a beautiful state. Don’t believe me? Take a ride through our Finger Lakes region sometime over the next month or so. See the magnificent beauty of the lakes, and witness all the farmers, the very backbone of this state AND our nation, harvesting their crops. Or travel through the Adirondacks and stay overnight at Lake George.
These are just a few places that quickly come to mind when I think about New York. No, I don’t want to leave—not yet. However, despite the many reasons that I can think of that make me want to remain in New York, I can think of just as many that make me want to leave!
What Governor Kathy Hochul said on August 22 is outrageous and disgraceful, but it’s what we have come to expect from these arrogant, self-centered, don’t-care-about-anyone-but-themselves elected officials (even though Hochul was NEVER elected by ANYONE to be governor).
Let’s make sure that she NEVER gets elected to ANYTHING ever again! After November 8, when we elect Lee Zeldin our next governor of New York, let’s put Kathy Hochul on a bus to somewhere (maybe our southern border?). I will gladly pay for her one way ticket!

Editor's note: This letter is in response to Tim Hoefel's opinion piece published in the NY Post, that categorized Governor Kathy Hochul's August 22 statement —“Trump and Zeldin and Molinaro – just jump on a bus and head down to Florida where you belong. OK? Get out of town. Because you don’t represent our values"—as directed at all 5.4 million New York Republicans.
