It’s hard to believe we’ve already turned the calendar to a new month. Fall is settling into Lake Huntington, NY, with cooler mornings, pumpkins appearing on porches and the first pops of red, orange and gold beginning to brighten our hillsides. Have a cup of coffee, enjoy these crisp fall days and take a look at what’s happening around town.

The Cochecton Youth Commission will be holding its annual Trunk or Treat on October 31 at 11 a.m. This fun Halloween event is open to Cochecton youth only, and sign-ups are required to participate. Anyone interested in volunteering a trunk can call or text Heather at 845/796-6976.

Rounding out the month on Thursday, October 22, Charming Disaster performs from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Brooklyn-based goth-folk duo mixes dark humor, folklore, magic and the macabre with vocal harmonies, ukulele, guitar and theatrical flair. Tickets for each performance cost $20 in advance or $25 at the door. Visit https://delawarevalleyopera.org/index.php/arts-nest.
